Nancy  Lendrim

Nancy Lendrim is Principal Harpist of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, where she holds the Lois Nitschke Chair for Harp. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music, Nancy was a student of renowned harpist Alice Chalifoux, and for 12 summers was a participant at the Salzedo Harp Colony in Camden, Maine.

She has appeared frequently as a soloist with The Toledo Symphony on their Chamber, Mainly Mozart, Classics and Neighborhood Concert series. Nancy has also performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, North Carolina Opera and the Atlanta Symphony. Chamber performances across the United States have been highlighted by numerous world premiere performances, most recently in St. Louis and Norfolk.

With Jody Guinn, Nancy is a founding member of the Salzedo Harp Duo. They have performed at World Harp Congresses in Geneva and in Amsterdam, and have appeared as performers and clinicians across the U.S. The Duo has released two recordings on the Azica label, and are currently preparing a third.

Nancy is Director of Harp Ensembles for the Curtis Summerfest, and is a member of the faculty of the University of Toledo and the Toledo School for the Arts. For 11 years, she was Director of Ensembles for the Saratoga Harp Colony. Recent master classes have included the University of Michigan and Tanglewood. As a Suziki-Certified harp teacher, she also teaches at the Toledo Symphony School of Music. In addition, Nancy has served as both clinician and adjudicator at numerous harp conferences and competitions.

Offstage, Nancy maintains an active roster of private students and is a regular contributor and reviewer for The Harp Column magazine. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, her book club and preparing for her next marathon. She lives in Sylvania, Ohio with husband Roger Greive and sons Elliot and Oliver.
